Spotlight on Taylor Robinson: A True Healthcare Hero

This month, we’re celebrating Taylor, a dedicated healthcare professional whose passion for helping others runs in the family. Inspired by a long line of nurses, she knew she was stepping into something big—but now, she can’t imagine doing anything else. When she’s not providing compassionate care, Taylor loves horseback riding, scuba diving, and traveling the world. At home, life is a little chaotic with her dog (who thinks she’s part cat) and two very unimpressed feline siblings. She’s also a talented cook, crafting meals that could rival Gordon Ramsay himself! Q & A with Taylor

What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare?
I come from a family of nurses and it inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare. I didn’t know what I was getting into but I can’t imagine doing anything else. I like to help others during vulnerable and difficult times.

What is your favourite activity outside of work?
Horseback riding.

Can you share something that has brought a smile to your face recently?
Spending time with my family in Jamaica.  

What are three items on your bucket list?
Scuba diving, travel to Europe, and learning to speak  Spanish

Do you have any pets? If so, what are they like?
I have 1 dog and 2 cats. It’s a bit of chaos as my dog doesn’t get the hint that the cats don’t want to play with her. It’s interesting to see a dog raised with cats. I suspect she thinks she is part cat. She likes to perch on the top of the couch to look outside the window just like her siblings. There is hair EVERYWHERE and it’s a constant struggle.

If you could instantly acquire any new skill, what would it be?
Cook delicious meals that rival Chef Gordon Ramsey.

The team is professional and quick to respond to questions and continues to grow to other provinces allowing more opportunities to travel. Staff are well organized and check in to see how I’m doing and if I need anything. It’s nice to know I’m well supported which makes the transition during contracts less stressful.
